Video Vault: More Bizarre Rock Star Film & TV Cameos

Jonah Bayer’s amusing Wack-o Rock Star Movie Cameos inspired us to dig through the archives in search of some more rock star video oddities. While we still haven’t found a clip of our own bizarre fave ― rockabilly legend Carl Perkins and David Bowie as hit men in a knock-down, drag-out fight that culminates with them plunging through an apartment building window to their deaths in John Landis’ shaggy-dog of a comedy-thriller, “Into the Night”  ― here’s Bowie’s cameo in Ben Stiller’s hilarious 2001 send-up of the modeling world, “Zoolander”:




And would you believe Frank Zappa actually made not one, but two cameo appearances with the Monkees? Here he and Mike Nesmith switch identities for an opening of the Monkees’ TV series:
